Agara Prakash
Agara Prakash R is an Indian politician and social worker associated with the Indian National Congress. He is known for his community development work, Kuruba community leadership, and political activism in the KR Puram region of Bengaluru, Karnataka. Prakash has held several organizational positions in the party and has been involved in public welfare, environmental activism, and social justice initiatives.
Early life and family
Agara Prakash R was born into a family deeply engaged in social and political service. His mother, Kempa Lakkamma, served as the Gram Panchayat President from 1993 to 2000 and later as the Zilla Congress Upadhyaksharu from 2000 to 2010. His father, Ramanna, was a social activist. Prakash’s son, Trigun, is a civil engineer.
Political career
Prakash began his political journey in 1993. Over the years, he has held several positions within the Indian National Congress, including: Youth Congress Vice President for Varthur Kshetra, President of the Grama Panchayathi Congress Committee (1996), BBMP Ward President for Ward 25 Horamavu (2008–2013), Zilla Congress Pradhana Karyadarshi (2013–2018) , Director for Marketing Communication and Media in the Government of Karnataka (2016–2019), Throughout his political career, he has worked with prominent INC leaders including A. Krishnappa, M. T. B. Nagaraj, Byrathi Suresh, D. K. Mohan, Rajeev Gowda, and Siddaramaiah.
